If you are interested in the work of IMIA and the benefits of it for the Engineering insurance market you may wish to know more about a membership of IMIA.
Who are its members?
IMIA is an organisation of national insurance associations as exist in many countries, but also individual insurance companies can become members in order to allow membership for countries that do not have an association to represent the local insurance industry. And also reinsurers can become members. Individual experts or other organisations actively involved in the Engineering insurance industry like brokers, consultants and loss adjusters may become associate members.
How do they work?
The Members are represented at IMIA by their delegates. They are the main contributors to the work of IMIA. This work consists of such activities as sharing experiences, discussing and developing new ideas. They meet on annual conferences, cooperate in working groups, maintain contact via their communications, they investigate and share knowledge on emerging and critical issues and seek to analyse advances in technology, causes of loss, changes in the maintenance and operation of machinery and other technological innovations. Important results of their work are the papers, presentations and publication created by the working groups or individuals in order to provide support in technical and professional underwriting know how.
