Membership

If you are interested in the work of IMIA and the benefits of it for the Engineering insurance market you may wish to know more about membership of IMIA.

Who are its members?

IMIA is an organisation composed of national insurance associations and individual insurance companies. Also, reinsurers can become members.

Exceptionally, individual expert firms or other organisations actively involved in the Engineering insurance industry like Consultants, Loss Adjusters and BrokersĀ may become Associate Members.

How do they work?

The Members are represented at IMIA by their Delegates. They are the main contributors to the work of IMIA. This work consists of such activities as sharing experiences, discussing and developing new ideas. They meet on annual conferences, cooperate in working groups, maintain contact via their communications, they investigate and share knowledge on emerging and critical issues and seek to analyse advances in technology, causes of loss, changes in the maintenance and operation of machinery and other technological innovations. Important results of their work are the papers, presentations and publication created by the working groups or individuals in order to provide support in technical and professional underwriting know-how.
